This guide does not claim that any destination definitely costs $1,500. It uses scenarios so travelers can see what the budget must cover.
Scenario A: $1,500 USD for one traveler excluding airfare can support more comfortable lodging, food, and activities in many places. Scenario B: $1,500 USD total including airfare is much tighter and usually rewards shorter trips, cheaper flights, fewer bases, and simpler hotels.
